The Program Coordinator (PC) will assist the Country Representative in establishing Counterpart’s new USAID-funded Food for Peace program in Niger (Goure and Maine Soroa Departments in Zinder and Diffa Regions), the goal of which is to strengthen resiliency against food insecurity of vulnerable populations in these departments. The position will be based in Goure. The PC will serve as a field-level manager of all daily operations and will assist the Country Representative in the management of the program, including program implementation, monitoring & evaluation, operations, finances and staff. Through the Country Representative, s/he will be responsible for all reporting to USAID, to the government of Niger (GoN), and Counterpart headquarters, and for collecting data and appropriately packaging it for analysis and dissemination. When the Country Representative is out of the country for any purpose or when otherwise appropriate, s/he can be designated as the “Acting Country Representative” and temporarily assume the responsibilities of the Country Representative.

Counterpart International's Global Agriculture and Economic Growth Division develops and undertakes innovative, market-driven, grassroots-based strategies in agriculture, food security and nutrition, and enterprise development to achieve healthy, productive, and economically sustainable communities. The Director of Operations — a newly created post — will primarily, but not exclusively, be engaged with activities in West Africa where Counterpart implements food security, agriculture and economic development projects. The Operations Director will fill a senior level position and will be responsible for HQ's managerial, operational and financial oversight of all donor-funded activities within the Global Agriculture and Economic Growth division, including food security programming. The Operations Director will serve as the key headquarters-based interface between program implementation in the field and oversight of the projects at HQ with respect to the delivery and accomplishment of activities on deadline, in programmatic compliance with our donor agreements, and within budget. In addition to supervising a small staff of program officers, the Director of Operations will communicate and coordinate directly with field-based managers and serve as a resource to program development initiatives.
